My good friend, Steve Breaston, NFL Wideout for the Arizona Cardinals and former wideout here at the University of Michigan, shows his support for IMU again with this pic of him rocking the IMUGrind Blue-Collar tee. Saturday morning brought another great volunteer opportunity IMU's way. Almost 20 IMU volunteers came together to help at the Food Gatherers warehouse from 9-11am. In just those two hours, we learned a lot about the amazing work the organization does every day, received a full warehouse tour, constructed countless boxes, and packed 9000 pounds of food (that's 4.5 tons!) for The Emergency Food Assistance Program.

18 semi-finalists were chosen for the Thirkell Elementary MLK Expressions Contest - nine 2nd & 3rd graders, and nine 4th & 5th graders. Yesterday, IMU along with numerous volunteers traveled to Thirkell in Detroit, MI and spent the day working with each of these students on their stories and/or pictures in the Beyond Basics classroom. It was an absolutely wonderful, awe-inspiring experience for us! I wish I could do that every day! =)
