What We Believe

IMU shirts are an outside representation of inside beliefs and values. They stand for a shift in perspective. A chance to reevaluate. A challenge to take a closer look at the people and community that surround us.

This is why community service is the backbone of the IMU mission.

To practice what we’re shouting from rooftops, every IMU employee is required to participate in 8-10 hours of community service per month.

Our Challenge to You

So this is what IMU is all about—spreading happiness and bettering our communities. Each IMU shirt will represent and encourage an hour of community service from our customer. So as a bit of motivation for you to get out and live the IMU mission, we’re going to sweeten the deal the best way we know how: DISCOUNTS!

All it takes is proof that you’ve completed at least one hour of community service,* within four weeks leading up to an IMU purchase. Provide that and we’ll send you an email detailing how to receive a 25% discount.

*What counts as proof?
1. A signed, dated description of the work you perform, on official letterhead, from the organization for which you volunteer.
OR
2. A story and picture posted to our Service Forum displaying the community service you participated in.

Still confused? Here are a couple examples:
1. “I volunteered at a community center helping tutor kids two weeks ago. I asked the community center volunteer coordinator to write a letter on my behalf stating that I volunteered for 2.5 hours that day. After he emailed the letter to me last week, I forwarded it along to IMU. Shortly after, I received a 25% off coupon code!”

2. “I volunteered at a Kid’s Fair at my old Elementary School last week. Throughout the day I took many pictures of the activities I helped with. Last night, I posted a short paragraph and pictures of my experience on the Service Forum. Shortly after my post, I received an email from IMU with a 25% off coupon code!”


*For your reading enjoyment, the official IMU definition of community service is:
An unpaid act of giving oneself voluntarily towards an organization focused on bettering the lives of community youth and/or providing educational services for community youth. The service one performs should benefit the community and reflect the values and principles of I Miss You, Inc. and the IMU brand.
